The Lowry Team :: National Frappe Day

National Frappe Day, celebrated annually on October 7th, honors a drink that is open to much interpretation. Most refer to the Frappe as an iced coffee drink that is blended to produce a tasty froth on top. Others define the Frappe as a frozen drink made with fruit and fruit juices. Then there are those that believe a Frappe to be the equivalent of a milkshake.

Luckily, there are plenty of local restaurants to purchase a frappe no matter what your definition of one is! There are Starbucks everywhere selling specialty coffee drinks. Starbucks has become popular for their seasonal flavors such as Pumpkin Spice and Salted Caramel Mocha. In West Chester you can find a Starbucks at 8238 Princeton Glendale Road, 9244 Floer Drive and 7783 Cox Lane. Another place to try is Kidd Coffee located at 311 Nilles Road in Fairfield. They also have a second location in Mason. Gingerbread and Toasted Marshmallow are two of the seasonal flavors they offer at this local Wine and Coffee Bar.

If you define a Frappe as a frozen fruit drink, give Planet Smoothie a try. Planet Smoothie has a location inside LA Fitness at 9282 Allen Road in West Chester and at The Marketplace, 7578 Cox Lane West Chester. Their menu includes a wide variety of light, classic, energy, protein and super fruit smoothies. Panera Bread is a great place to go for both of these Frappe versions. Go to 9444 Civic Centre Boulevard in West Chester to sample their wide variety of coffee drinks and smoothies.

Lastly, if you interpret a Frappe as a milkshake, there are many delicious places to visit. The Cone at 6855 Tylersville Road is Cincinnati’s best soft serve ice cream. In early Fall they serve Pumpkin and Caramel shakes and malts. Unfortunately, they are closed for the season but we highly recommend you give The Cone a try in the Spring. Flubs is also a fan favorite with locations in both Hamilton and Fairfield. Flubs has been serving Butler County residents for over 40 years and is open year round.

The Lowry Team is looking forward to the long weekend and all of the fun activities going on around town! Labor Day weekend is a great time to get away, have a backyard BBQ or enjoy some of the many fun things to do in Cincinnati, Ohio. Let’s begin with tonight!

Thursday, August 28th is the very last After Hours On The Square of the season. From 6 pm – 9 pm at 9285 Centre Pointe Drive West Chester, Ohio 45069 The Naked Karate Girls will perform. Get to The Square for music, beer, food and fun!

Fairfield, Ohio is also holding their very last summer concert at 301 Wessel Drive Fairfield, Ohio 45014 on Thursday, August 28th. Groovin’ On The Green begins at 7 pm and ends at 9 pm. Blue Stone Ivory will perform classic style rock ‘n roll from the 60’s and 70’s.

The Ohio Renaissance Festival begins Saturday, August 30th and runs until October 19th in Harveysburg, Ohio. The festival is located off of State Route 73 in Warren County. It is open from 10:30 am – 6 pm Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day. At the festival you will be entertained, participate in arts and crafts, and enjoy food and drink; all from the Renaissance era. Cost is $21.95 for adults and $9.95 for kids ages 5 – 12.

Mason, Ohio presents the last concert of the Sunshine Concert Series on Sunday, August 31st. The Sweet Beats will perform a Beatles Tribute at 6 pm at The Golf Center Kings Island. The Golf Center is located at 6042 Fairway Drive Mason, Ohio 45040.

The 38th annual Cincinnati Bell WEBN Fireworks returns Sunday, August 31st with a “Back to the Fireworks” theme. From noon until 4:45 pm the P&G Pavilion Stage will have music from DJ Self Diploma and the 80’s band Elementz. Other activities include a cardboard boat race and rubber duck regatta which will support the Free Store Food Bank. Sawyer Point festivities run from noon – 10 pm with car shows, face painting , an 80’s activity zone and more. Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks begin at 9:05 pm. Sawyer Point is located at 705 E. Pete Rose Way in Cincinnati. This is a family friendly, alcohol free event. Food, soft drinks and water will be available to purchase.

5/3 Bank hosts the West Chester Concert Series at Keehner Park on Monday, September 1st. The West Chester Symphony will perform from 7 pm – 9 pm at the amphitheatre locatEd at 7211 Barrett Road West Chester, Ohio 45069. Pack a picnic and enjoy the free concert under the stars.

Negotiating An Offer.

It is extremely important to have an experienced, professional real estate agent do the negotiating for you. There are going to be times when you will receive a completely low ball offer. Do not take it personally, it is just business. Your real estate agent will make sure that the buyer is pre-approved for a loan and keep negotiating the offer for you.

It important to try to keep negotiations going. The more time and money spent, the more the buyers will feel invested in reaching an agreement with you and buying your house.

There is more to the negotiation process then agreeing upon a price. You may negotiate the type of financing and the closing date. Also, closing costs, repairs made to the home and personal property are items that can make or break a deal. In the end, sometimes a small concession is all that is needed to agree upon a final purchase contract.

First Time Home Buyer Neighborhoods

West Chester Ohio offers plenty of activities for children and their families to learn and have fun at the same time. In addition to the many parks, pools and playgrounds, there are scheduled workshops that the family can participate in together.

One example is the WOLF program. WOLF stands for the World Of Land, Forest, and Friends. The program is held on Wednesdays, during the summer months, at both 10:30 am and 1:00 pm. The program is appropriate for ages 5-14 and is located at the Deer Shelter in Keehner Park, 7211 Barrett Road West Chester Ohio 45069. Each class will have a topic related to the environment and nature. Future dates that the WOLF program is being held are: June 18, 25 and July 16, 23, and 30th.

The Nature Basket Program is another opportunity for family fun in West Chester Ohio. This program is recommended for children 3-5 years of age. The Nature Basket Program is held at 10:30 am at the Owl Shelter in Keehner Park, 7211 Barrett Road West Chester Ohio 45069. Each session includes a story, a talk about nature and a craft. Upcoming dates for this program are August 13th, September 10th and October 15th. Parents must accompany their child and help with the craft.

Rainy Day Fun In West Chester Ohio

Schools out, the kids are home and … it is raining! Luckily, The Lowry Team has plenty of suggestions to keep the family happily busy.

Have a little family friendly competition and head to Monster Mini Golf. Monster Mini Golf located at 7058 Ridgetop Drive West Chester Ohio 45069 is a monster themed glow in the dark, indoor 18 hole mini golf course. There is a DJ and also an arcade. Hours are Monday through Thursday from noon – 9 pm, Fridays and Saturdays from noon – 10 pm and Sundays from noon – 8 pm. It cost $7 for kids and $8 for adults.

Get rid of some of that extra energy by jumping around at Pump It Up. Pump It Up located at 7724 Service Center Drive West Chester Ohio 45069 has inflatables and play areas. There are slides, obstacle courses, basketball arenas and more. Pump It Up holds open jumps throughout the week . They offer glow jumps in which they turn out the lights and the arena glows in the dark. Kids receive a glow in the dark bracelet. Glow Jumps are Mondays from 11 am-1 pm and Tuesdays from 5:30 – 7 pm. They also have ice cream jumps where kids receive ice cream cups or sandwiches after they jump and play. Ice cream jumps are held Thursday from 5:30 – 7 pm and Fridays from 11 am-1 pm. Cost is $8.

The Web Extreme Entertainment is located at 7172 Cincinnati Dayton Road West Chester Ohio. The Web has laser tag, go carts, mini golf and mini bowling. Laser tag and golf carts are $8 each for a single pass. Mini golf and mini bowling are $4 each for a single pass. They are open Sunday – Thursday from 11 am – 10 pm and Friday through Sunday from 11 am – midnight. There is a cafe in case you are hungry or you can treat yourself to ice cream from Aglemesis Brothers. The Web offers specials and family packages.

EnterTRAINment Junction is located at 7379 Squire Court West Chester Ohio. They are open from 10 am – 6 pm Monday through Saturday and noon – 6 pm on Sundays. Kids and adults of all ages will enjoy the world’s largest indoor, interactive train display as well as their newest attraction, A-Maze-N Funhouse. The Train Journey costs $13.95 for adults and $9.95 for kids ages 3 – 12. The Fun House costs $9.95.

Mid Pointe Library at 9363 Centre Pointe West Chester Ohio 45069 is open daily from 9 am – 9 pm. There are many kids programs such as magic shows, story time, crafts, games and more. Check on line or visit the library to find the calendar of events. Some events require pre-registration.
