This Weekend In Cincinnati…

The holidays are upon us and there is no shortage of fun activities taking place this weekend. Get in the holiday spirit by attending one or more of these events taking place in Cincinnati.  Continue old traditions or begin new ones…

Hamilton’s Tree Lighting and Main Street Music Fest is this evening, Friday, November 21st. The event begins at 5:30 pm at the Butler County Courthouse. Enjoy holiday entertainment, hot chocolate and cookies.  After the tree lighting ceremony wander down Main Street to enjoy more musical entertainment. Local businesses will be open to begin your holiday shopping.

The Beach Water Park opens for snow tubing today! The water park has become a snow park! The Beach is located at 2590 Waterpark Drive Mason Ohio. Sessions begin at 2 hours but hours can be added for an additional cost.  Cost ranges from $17 – $25. Along with snow tubing, there is a play area for younger kids and a chalet to warm up in with food and drink available to purchase.  The park is open from 10 am – 10 pm today.  Daily hours vary.

The Germania Society is holding their annual Christkindlmarkt this weekend. Head to 3529 West Kemper Road Cincinnati Ohio 45251 to begin your holiday shopping. In addition to shopping, there will be German entertainment, food, pastries and beer, Christkindlmarkt is open from 5 pm – 10 pm on Friday, 11 am – 10 pm on Saturday and noon – 5 pm on Sunday.

Holiday In Lights opens today at Sharon Woods and runs through December 31st. Drive through the outdoor light display at 11450 Lebanon Road in Sharonville.  Cost is $13 a carload.

Holiday Lights On The Hill also begins today at Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park and Museum at 1763 Hamilton-Cleves Road in Hamilton. Drive through more than a million lights and displays. This weekend, Holiday Lights on the Hill is open from Friday – Sunday,          6 pm – 10 pm each day. Cost is $25 a carload on the weekends and $20 a carload Monday  – Thursday.

Today marks the start of ice skating at the ice rink on Fountain Square. Fountain Square is at the corner of 5th and Vine Cincinnati. Hours are 5 pm – midnight on Fridays, 10 am – midnight on Saturdays and 10 – 10 pm on Sundays.  Admission is $4 and skate rental is $4. The skating rink is open until February 15th.

The Festival of Lights at The Cincinnati Zoo opens Saturday, November 22nd and runs through January 3rd. The zoo is located at 3400 Vine Street Cincinnati. Regular admission is $15, $11 for ages 2 – 12 and free for children under 2. There is an additional cost for parking.

Balluminaria 2014 is being held at Mirror Lake in Eden Park on Saturday, November 22nd.  This free event is from 4 pm – 6 pm at 950 Eden Park Drive Cincinnati Ohio 45202. Activities include circus entertainers, nature activities, costumed characters from the Cincinnati Ballet and Playhouse In The Park, carolers, and hot air balloons. Food, hot chocolate and crafts will be available for sale.
