The Lowry Team: Things To Do Near Cincinnati Ohio

January 2, 2015 by Eric Lowry Leave a Comment

Fun activities for the whole family in Hamilton, West Chester and Cincinnati.

Things to do near CincinnatiIf you are like  many families, you may not have had time to check out all of the beautiful light displays this year. In between decorating, shopping, wrapping and parties there just wasn’t the opportunity. So, now that the New Year has begun, take a deep breath and go for a drive. Holiday Lights on the Hill at Pyramid Sculpture Park in Hamilton Ohio is open through Sunday night. Hours are 6 pm – 10 pm and cost is $25 a carload on the weekends.

Friday, January 2nd and Saturday, January 3rd are the last two opportunities to attend the Festival of Lights at The Cincinnati Zoo. The Festival of Lights is open from 5 pm – 10 pm both nights. The zoo is located at 3400 Vine Street Cincinnati Ohio 45220. Ticket prices begin at $11 for children and seniors and $15 for ages 13-61.

The Mulhauser Barn in Beckett Park is a busy place this weekend! During the Winter months it is home to the West Chester Farmer’s Market. Purchase locally grown produce, locally baked breads and other products. The market is open from 2 pm – 4 pm on Saturday, January 3rd.

Stop back at Mulhauser Barn on Sunday for their monthly open house. The first Sunday of each month they open their doors so that potential renters can view the facility. It is also popular among folks interested in learning about the history of the barn. The open house runs this Sunday, January 4th from 2 pm – 4 pm.

Now that the holidays are over, there is a lot less hustle and bustle. The kiddos may start to complain about getting bored. Bring them to the Station Road School House at 6670 Station Road in West Chester on Wednesday, January 7th. Nature’s Basket is being held there from 10:30 am – 11:15 am. Pre-school aged students and an adult can enjoy storytime and make a nature inspired craft. Call 759-7312 to register for this event.

The Lowry Team Keller Williams: Happy National Poinsettia Day

national poinsettia day at Krohn ConservatoryToday is National Poinsettia Day!  A great way to celebrate this day would be to attend the Magic and Mistletoe Show at the Krohn Conservatory.  The 2014 Holiday show will feature an interactive train display and thousands of colorful poinsettias, cyclamens and tropical flowers. Visitors will also experience local musicians, Schmalz holiday displays, baskets of mistletoe and great photo opportunities. Every year there is something new to discover!

Krohn Conservatory is located at 1501 Eden Park Drive Cincinnati Ohio 45202. It is open daily from 10 am – 5 pm. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children. Children ages 4 and under are free. The Magic and Mistletoe Show runs through January 4, 2015.
