sunflower festival - The Lowry TeamFall is officially here!  The leaves are beginning to turn color, the air is getting cooler and crisper and there are so many fun, outdoor activities to enjoy. This weekend in Cincinnati you can take part in Operation Pumpkin or take in the beauty of a sunflower festival.

Operation Pumpkin is being held October 3,4 and 5 in downtown Hamilton, Ohio. This festival is complete with live entertainment, food vendors and amusement park rides. Various street performances are held throughout the day. Artists and artisans will have booths set up to sell their work.  Some of the events taking place include a giant pumpkin weigh off and pumpkin carving. Pets can participate in the pet parade and costume contest.  A zombie 5k is being held on Saturday at 4.  Live bands perform on stage each evening. Festival hours are Friday from 11 am – 10 m, Saturday from 10 am – 10 pm and Sunday from 10 am – 5 pm.

Gorman Heritage Farm is holding their annual Sunflower Festival this weekend.  Head to 10052 Reading Road in Cincinnati and stroll through acres of beautiful sunflowers.  Other activities include hayrides, pumpkin picking, visits with the barnyard animals and arts and crafts.  Enjoy entertainment, music and refreshments. GE Aviation in Evendale has even designed a pumpkin sling shot for your entertainment. The festival is Saturday, October 4th and Sunday, October 5th from 10 am – 4 pm. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for kids and senior citizens.

Around Town This Weekend With The Lowry Team

The Lowry Team - Niederman FarmsThe Lowry Team is overwhelmed by the number of fun activities taking place in Butler and Hamilton Counties this weekend!  Here are just a few:

Octoberfest Zinzinnati, USA takes place all weekend long.  Head downtown for plenty of German music, entertainment, food and drink. Activities take place along 5th Street in downtown Cincinnati.  Hours are Friday 5 pm – midnight, Saturday 11 am – midnight and Sunday 11 am – 10 pm. Admission is free.  Some of the highlights this year are taking place at Fountain Square.  Friday night from 5 pm – 8 pm there will be a pep rally for The University of Cincinnati’s Homecoming. Saturday at 4 pm The World’s Largest Chicken Dance will be led by Nick and Drew Lachey.

Niederman Family Farm Fall Festival begins this weekend and goes until September 28th. Get lost in a corn maze, pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch and visit with all of the barnyard animals.  The farm is located at 4972 Lesourdesville-West Chester Road in Liberty Township. It is open on Fridays from 6 pm – 10 pm, Saturdays from 11 am – 10 pm and Sundays from 1 pm – 6 pm.  Admission is $9.  Children 2 and under are free.

Village Green Park is hosting the 7th annual Cruise In On The Green this Saturday from 4 pm – 10 pm.  The car show is open to all makes and models.  There will be plenty of food and beverage vendors, music and of course cars! The Belairs are performing from 7 pm – 10 pm.  The park is located at 411 Wessel Drive in Fairfield, Ohio.

The Sweet Beats are performing your favorite Beatles songs at Rivers Edge Saturday, September 20th beginning ast 7 pm.  Rivers Edge is located at 116 Dayton Street in Hamilton, Ohio.  The concert is free. Food, beverage and beer vendors will be on site.

Sunday, September 21st at 4 pm the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra performs with the Lakota East Symphonic Winds.  The event is being held at the Lakota East Freshman School auditorium, 7630 Bethany Road Liberty Township, Ohio 45044.  Adult tickets cost $25, student tickets are $10.  Louis Langree is conducting. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Lakota East Instrumental Music Program.

AROUND TOWN WITH THE LOWRY TEAMThe Lowry Team, Keller Williams Realty has found quite a few fun events taking place all over town this weekend. Keep an eye open for us – you never know where The Lowry Team may appear!  The Lowry Team Lives, Works, and Plays in Cincinnati!

St. Susanna’s Festival is taking place in Mason, Ohio all weekend.  The church is located at 616 Reading Road Mason, Ohio 45040. The festival is open from 5 pm – midnight on Friday, 4 pm to midnight Saturday and 2 pm – 9 pm on Sunday.  

The band “The Good Hooks” plays Friday night and “DV8” performs Saturday night. Sunday will feature family entertainment all day long, including a DJ and a magician. Stop by for games, rides, food and fun!

The 5th annual Glendale Beer and Wine Festival will be held Friday, September 5th and Saturday, September 6th from 5 pm – 11 pm each night. The festival is located at Glendale Square, 30 Village Square Glendale, Ohio 45246.  This year the festival celebrates Cincinnati’s “Porkopolis” history. 

Tickets are  $10 for a non tasting admission and $30 for a tasting admission.  A tasting admission includes wrist band, commemorative drinking glass and 5 tasting tickets.  You must be at least 21 years old to purchase a tasting admission.

Proceeds from the Glendale Beer and Wine Festival go directly to funding pediatric cancer research through The Cure Starts Now.  

Wyoming Ohio is having an Exotic Wheels and Wine event Saturday night, September 6th from 5:30 pm – 9:30 pm.  The event is being held at Village Green Park, located at 400 Wyoming Avenue Wyoming Ohio 45215.  There will be 50 exotic cars, wine, craft beer and food.  

Stroll along Wyoming Avenue at the Village Green, sipping craft beer and select wines, while viewing some of the most rare and exotic vehicles ever invented! 

Go Star-Gazing on Saturday, September 6th in West Chester.  Members of The Astronomical Society are setting up their telescopes on the tennis courts of Keehner Park, 7411 Barrett Road West Chester Ohio 45069.  

Bring your questions and learn about the stars and planets!  Star-gazing is from 8 pm – 11 pm.  The event will be cancelled if it rains.

The Lowry TeamThe Lowry Team is looking forward to the long weekend and all of the fun activities going on around town!  Labor Day weekend is a great time to get away, have a backyard BBQ or enjoy some of the many fun things to do in Cincinnati, Ohio. Let’s begin with tonight!

Thursday, August 28th is the very last After Hours On The Square of the season.  From 6 pm – 9 pm at 9285 Centre Pointe Drive West Chester, Ohio 45069 The Naked Karate Girls will perform. Get to The Square for music, beer, food and fun!

Fairfield, Ohio is also holding their very last summer concert at 301 Wessel Drive Fairfield, Ohio 45014 on Thursday, August 28th.  Groovin’ On The Green begins at 7 pm and ends at 9 pm. Blue Stone Ivory will perform classic style rock ‘n roll from the 60’s and 70’s.

The Ohio Renaissance Festival begins Saturday, August 30th and runs until October 19th in Harveysburg, Ohio.  The festival is located off of State Route 73 in Warren County.  It is open from 10:30 am – 6 pm Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day.  At the festival you will be entertained, participate in arts and crafts, and enjoy food and drink; all from the Renaissance era.   Cost is $21.95 for adults and $9.95 for kids ages 5 – 12.

Mason, Ohio presents the last concert of the Sunshine Concert Series on Sunday, August 31st. The Sweet Beats will perform a Beatles Tribute at 6 pm at The Golf Center Kings Island.  The Golf Center is located at 6042 Fairway Drive Mason, Ohio 45040.

The 38th annual Cincinnati Bell WEBN Fireworks returns Sunday, August 31st with a “Back to the Fireworks” theme.  From noon until 4:45 pm the P&G Pavilion Stage will have music from DJ Self Diploma and the 80’s band Elementz.  Other activities include a cardboard boat race and rubber duck regatta which will support the Free Store Food Bank.  Sawyer Point festivities run from noon – 10 pm with car shows, face painting , an 80’s activity zone and more.  Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks begin at 9:05 pm.  Sawyer Point is located at 705 E. Pete Rose Way in Cincinnati.  This is a family friendly, alcohol free event. Food, soft drinks and water will be available to purchase.

5/3 Bank hosts the West Chester Concert Series at Keehner Park on Monday, September 1st.  The West Chester Symphony will perform from 7 pm – 9 pm at the amphitheatre locatEd at 7211 Barrett Road West Chester, Ohio 45069.  Pack a picnic and enjoy the free concert under the stars.

The Lowry Team - Tom + CheeThe Lowry Team is looking forward to the newest Tom + Chee Restaurant opening up in West Chester!  Founders Trew Quackenbush and Corey Ward are opening their largest location at 9328 Union Centre Boulevard West Chester Ohio in mid November.  The 3200 square foot restaurant will be the first to sell craft beer and wine.  Most of the beer sold will be from Cincinnati’s local breweries.

Tom + Chee began in 2009 as a food tent on Fountain Square in Cincinnati Ohio.  Due to TV exposure and an investment deal from the show Shark Tank, they have quickly grown to 13 locations and counting.

Tom +Chee  serves creative grilled cheese sandwiches such as BBQ and Bacon and the Grilled Cheese Donut.  They also serve homemade soup and fresh salads.  Their menu includes vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options.  

Tom + Chee has been featured on ABC’s Shark Tank, Travel Channel’s Man V Food, Amazing Eats and ABC’s The Chew.  NBC’s Today Show  named the Grilled Cheese Donut the “Best New Sandwich in America.”

Rainy Day In West Chester OhioIt’s raining! Luckily, The Lowry Team has plenty of suggestions to keep the little ones  happily busy while their older siblings are back to school.

Have a little family friendly competition and head to Monster Mini Golf. Monster Mini Golf located at 7058 Ridgetop Drive West Chester Ohio 45069 is a monster themed glow in the dark, mini golf course.  The 18 hole mini golf course also features a DJ and an arcade. Hours are Monday through Thursday from noon – 9 pm, Fridays and Saturdays from noon – 10 pm and Sundays from noon – 8 pm.  It costs $7 for kids and $8 for adults.

Burn off some of that extra energy by jumping around at Pump It Up.  Pump It Up, located at 7724 Service Center Drive West Chester Ohio 45069 has inflatables and play areas.  There are slides, obstacle courses, basketball arenas and more.  Pump It Up holds open jumps throughout the week .  They offer glow jumps in which they turn out the lights and the arena glows in the dark.  Kids receive a glow in the dark bracelet. Glow Jumps are Mondays from 11 am-1 pm and Tuesdays from  5:30 – 7 pm.  They also have ice cream jumps where kids receive ice cream cups or sandwiches after they jump and play.  Ice cream jumps are held Thursday from 5:30 – 7 pm and Fridays from 11 am-1 pm.  Cost is $8.

The Web Extreme Entertainment is located at 7172 Cincinnati Dayton Road West Chester Ohio.  The Web has laser tag, go carts, mini golf and mini bowling.  Laser tag and golf carts are $8 each for a single pass.  Mini golf and mini bowling are $4 each for a single pass.  They are open Sunday – Thursday from 11 am  – 10 pm and Friday through Sunday from 11 am – midnight. There is a cafe on site or you can treat yourself to ice cream from Aglemesis Brothers. The Web offers specials and family packages.

EnterTRAINment Junction is located at 7379 Squire Court West Chester Ohio.  They are open from 10 am – 6 pm Monday through Saturday and noon – 6 pm on Sundays. Kids and adults of all ages will enjoy the world’s largest indoor, interactive train display as well as their newest attraction, A-Maze-N Funhouse.  The Train Journey costs $13.95 for adults and $9.95 for kids ages 3 – 12.  The Fun House costs $9.95.

Mid Pointe Library at 9363 Centre Pointe West Chester Ohio 45069 is open daily from 9 am – 9 pm.  There are many kids programs including magic shows, story time, crafts, games and more. Check on line or visit the library to find the calendar of events.  Some events require pre-registration.
