The Lowry Team Keller Williams – West Chester University
West Chester University is a series of informative programs designed to encourage communication between the government of West Chester Township and the residents and business owners of the community. There are a variety of classes ranging in topics from safety to wildlife management to video production. The Lowry Team will highlight a few of the programs that are presented by the West Chester Police and Fire Departments. Both departments work hard to make West Chester Ohio a better place to live.
The West Chester Fire Department offers CPR and First Aid classes every month. Some of the classes result in a required certification. Other programs are basic and are meant to better prepare individuals for emergency situations. There is a cost associated with the classes to cover the materials needed. Classes are held at Fire Station 71 on Cincinnati Dayton Road in West Chester.
The West Chester Police Department holds a Police Academy twice a year. The 10 week program gives participants a behind the scenes look at department operations. Topics include criminal and traffic investigations, evidence handling and processing, jail operations and much more. The academy is held at 9577 Beckett Road Suite 500 West Chester Ohio. Participants must be 21 years of age and complete an enrollment application.
Women’s self defense classes are being held by the West Chester Police Department. A Women’s S.A.F.E. Class begins August 4th. Class is held every Monday from 6 pm – 8 pm for 5 weeks. The 10 hour class includes self defense training and guided discussion on rape prevention and situational awareness. There will also be a S.M.A.R.T. Self-Defense Class on September 9th from 6 pm – 8 pm. This class will teach awareness and basic hands on self defense techniques. Both classes are free but space is limited.
